BITOSSI:  The Italian ceramics company was founded in 1921 in Florence, Italy by Guido Bitossi. Bitossi ancestors had been kiln workers, sculptors, painters and potters in Montelupo Fiorentino, near Florence, since the 1530s. In 1946, Aldo Londi joined the Cav. G. Bitossi & Figli factory (Bitossi Ceramiche), a happy association that would see him as a protagonist for more than fifty years, first as artistic director, then as a tireless collaborator. Merging tradition and contemporaneity to create a modern product, Bitossi came  to represent the finest in excellence of Italian ceramic manufacturing in the world, eventually collaborating with artists and design icons such as Ettore Sottsass, Max Lamb, Pierre Marie Agin, and Bethan Laura Wood.
